Post Malone Announces New Album in the Works: “We’ve Recorded Around 35 Songs”

Post Malone is feeling the pressure ahead of his Coachella 2025 headlining performance, set to wrap up both weekends of the festival on April 13 and 20. Relaxing at an intimate yet lively party hosted by Poppi— a prebiotic soda brand in which he was an early investor—he reveals his nerves about his upcoming show. “They want me to do something crazy, and I’m terrified,” he admits, though he’s staying tight-lipped about the specifics. Despite his usual jitters before each performance, Post confesses that he wasn’t nearly as nervous during his Coachella debut in 2018. “I wasn’t as nervous back then… I’m just old now. Everything hurts,” he says with a laugh.

The growing challenges of age are part of why Post Malone became involved with Poppi. Reflecting on the transition to healthier habits, he recalls, “I remember kicking soda was a hard thing,” referencing his decision to swap sugary drinks for more beneficial alternatives a few years ago. When he first tried Poppi, he was hooked: “This is f—ing banging,” he says, a testament to his commitment to making healthier choices.

Though he’s been keeping a low profile during Coachella’s first weekend, Post Malone reveals he’s been busy recording vocals for his highly anticipated upcoming album. Additionally, he’s working on another country-inspired set, following the success of his 2024 chart-topping album F-1 Trillion. He’s already recorded around 35 songs, having made two trips to Nashville for the project. “It’s just a matter of which one’s rock, and which one’s sock,” he jokes about the diverse sounds in the works. When asked if he’ll debut any new tracks during his Coachella set, he laughs and responds, “Absolutely not.”

Post’s excitement for the project is palpable as he speaks about his collaborations with Nashville’s talented community. “We just sit and f—ing talk and make songs,” he shares about working with friends and fellow artists like Ernest, Hardy, and Thomas Rhett. The results have been exciting, as the band has already recorded several tracks, and Post admits, “They’re f—ing killing it.” Despite his usual reluctance to listen to his own music, he finds himself thrilled to hear the band’s interpretations of the songs.

The country genre has proven a great fit for Post, especially with his hit “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, which topped the Hot 100, and his album F-1 Trillion debuting at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. Post will also be competing for Album of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May.

While country music has become a defining part of Post Malone’s career, he reassures fans that his headlining Coachella set will showcase his entire catalog of hits spanning hip-hop, pop, and rock. “We have Lillie [Mae] playing the fiddle and Cheese [Chandler Walters] playing the steel [guitar] and incorporating that into the old songs and then transitioning into the new s—… it’s all just f—ing music,” he says, highlighting his ability to blend genres seamlessly.

Post is also gearing up for his first stadium tour, the Big Ass World Tour, alongside Jelly Roll. As his journey into country music propels him to global superstardom, he sees this path as one that felt “right” all along.

Since 2022, Post Malone has released an album every year, with his most recent project, F-1 Trillion, capturing the fun and excitement that had been missing from his previous works. “It was so fun to make. And I think a lot of folks had fun listening to it,” he reflects. “I’m excited to keep going.” As for his future plans, he hints at new music on the horizon: “Hopefully, we’ll have some music releasing very, very soon.”
